The NVH will stimulate tonal nerves you never thought possible. With a choice between a standard or hot wind for the bridge position, you and your guitar will be able to experience a VIP tour of the sonic spectrum available at the stipulations of your own articulation, and the component choices which make up your guitar’s electronic “gut.” The NVH’s output is extremely malleable; letting the player acquire powerful lows and chunky mids needed for metal or hard rock, but still clean, clear, and fluid enough for blues or softer sub-genres of rock. Upon the first strum or pluck of a string, the initial feel is unbelievably responsive and tonally immaculate; allowing saturating, versatile chord progressions and strong, articulate, and percussive finger work. In choosing the NVH as the conductor of your symphonic intervention, you will not be disappointed with this pickup’s unique tonal flexibility and ability to help you create a melodic and harmonious atmosphere all your own.

Alnico III magnets differ from Alnico V in that they are warmer with a softer character. Think of them like a 60’s J style sound taken even further down the warm and fat path. Alnico V by contrast is brighter, cleaner and punchier, and will have a more wiry, stringy character. As another example, we’d recommend A3 for fretless or a fat 60’s Jaco type thing and A5 is great for a modern slap type thing or an R and B sound.
Alnico V comes standard.

"I was instantly blown away when I heard the difference that Nordstrand’s NVH set made for my semi-hollow. I was already happy with the guitar, but now it’s at another level – dialing in that perfect oldschool cranked-Marshall sound means you need pickups with real attention to detail on the mids and treble, and clear voicing even with high-gain sounds. The Nordstrands deliver all of the above!" - Jeff Potts
