Mike McClellan is a music producer, composer, and songwriter. Mike was originally from Portland, OR, and has been playing.bass and guitar since 2001. Now based in Burbank, CA, Mike's musical background ranges from a studious upbringing in jazz and contemporary piano in the Pacific Northwest, through many years performing in Utah's spirited indie rock scene, to a year spent fine-tuning his electronic music sensibilities in the UK. His command of both keyboards and guitars allows him to paint with a diverse sonic palette in a wide variety of genres. MIDI sequencing, drum programming, bass lines, and guitar riffs – all are part of Mike's wheelhouse.
An award-winning songwriter, Mike has had compositions featured in commercials for the NFL, Amazon Prime, and the US Olympic team, as well as network TV shows like the Today Show and many more. Mike has produced songs for recording artists including Jay Warren (#1 iTunes R&B album 2020), Ryan Innes (The Voice, Songland), Ashley Hess (American Idol), and many others. Mike currently teaches music production classes at Icon Collective and UCLA Extension.
When he's not producing music, Mike enjoys trips to the cinema and spending time with his wife and son.
Describe your rig or instrument of choice: Currently rocking the Fender 75th Anniversary P Bass through a Marshall compressor into the lumbar-friendly Ampeg RB-110. When I'm in a short scale mood I turn to my custom 30" Fenderbird. I'm also in the process of modding the Squier Affinity H Jaguar into something beefier and funkier.

I'm a big fan of the Nordy Mute. It's such a simple accessory but it does more to vibe up the tone and feel of my bass than any other piece of hardware I own.
