Describe your rig: I always go for a real clean sounding rig with a flat frequency response. I have been using Gallien Krueger Amplification, Bergantino Audio Systems, & Walter Woods Amplifiers for many years and have not looked back (thank you Vik Momjian). As far as instruments go I always revert to a Fender or Fender inspired instruments as they just work for me. Lately I have been using Colibri Basses, a Nordy J, and a Hammersmith J5.
How did you discover Nordstrand? I was first exposed to Carey’s work from my first serious electric bass teacher, Adrian Garcia. I remember being blown away by Carey’s craftsmanship and later his pickup wizardry. I am fairly certain I was the only 17 year old on the west coast sporting Nordstrand pickups in my bass LOL.
What Nordstrand products do you use? With the exception of the newly released Big Blade series I use all of Carey’s pickups and preamps in my instruments from Big Splits, Fat Stacks, Big Singles, Dual Coils, countless P & J pickups. They record extremely well and kick major ass live !!
How long have you been using Nordstrand? Probably around 10-12 years
