Describe your rig or instrument of choice: I'm a rock/metal bass player. My goal is to cut through the mix. I have a very fast attack and want full control of the mid frequencies so I can boost the right spot and make my tone loud and clear. All my choices are driven by this deep need. I use 2 different setups: one direct, the other one with 1 or 2 cabinets.
This is my live signal chain:
Ibanez bass
Samson wireless / sphere cable
Zoom B3n
GK MB 500 Fusion
Gk NEO II 2x12 + 1x15 or direct mode, in this case Sennheiser G3 wireless in ear monitor:
The same in a recording session. I love a tube preamp. I have my Avalon 737, but I can use with other equipment. The most important thing is how quick is the recording path? Less latency means better tone, better groove, and a better performance, so the converter and the audio card are VERY important.
How did you discover Nordstrand? Thanks to Ibanez basses! I know the brand but I had never played Nordstrand before. Now my primary bass is equipped with Nordstrand Big Single Pickups. The Big Singles are lightning fast so you can focus on the details 'cause you know you have no gap in between what you think and what you play. For me it's the 1st time with a 3 band Eq and I'm totally in love with the mids. It's the best I've ever heard. You can shape and reshape your tone and it will always be great and dynamic. It's like using a super easy magnifying glass to enhance what it's important in your sound and your way of playing.
Artists whom with you are currently working:
Arthemis - Power / Trash Band
Mr. Pig - Super Hard Rock Cover Band
Living Theory - European Linkin Park tribute band
Other artists of note whom with you have worked: I mainly work with my band and with my mates in pretty much all of their projects. Sometimes I'm a bassplayer. Sometimes i'm a sound engineer. Sometimes I'm a videographer, or a session player or asocial media manager. Sometimes I share the stage with some superstar like Paul Gilbert, Virgil Donati, Billy Sheehan during a clinic or an exhibition. I feel lucky and honored to work with artists such as Michele Luppi (Whitesnake/Secret Sphere), Michele "Dr. Viossy" Vioni (YouTube superstar), Andrea Martongelli, Fabio Dessi, Jan Maneneti (Unity)
