Originally from, Brazil, Nando Raio has established himself as an electric and acoustic bassist in Los Angeles. His versatility has led him to countless sessions and tours around the globe with many notable acts. Raio's merging of the music of his home with many contemporary styles has given him a unique sound of his own both as a performer and a composer.

Years playing: 25 years

Describe your rig or instrument of choice: Vintage and new Fender basses, Xotic Bass, Nordstrand Pickups, Vintage American Upright bass, Vintage German Upright bass, aguilar cabs and amps.

How did you discover Nordstrand? My ears guided me on this one, I had a chance at Namm Show to play some basses with the Nordy pickups and I was sold.

 

What Nordstrand products do you use? I use on 5 string Fender P-Bass, NP5 and Mo did an incredible job adding a big split 60's position, it is all passive.

How long have you been using Nordstrand? Since mid 2017.
